Prepare to be impressed by ‘Imprints...The Show’! There’s a good chance that the 2008 Arts Spectacular will do just that as it breaks new ground in local community entertainment.

Talented singers, actors and visual atists from across the Boonah community explore the theme of IMPRINTS … Yours... Mine... Ours ...

Fabulous music, stunning visuals, fast paced humour, dazzling special effects and daring aerial stunts by exotic night creatures.

This year's performance is presented by Artistic Director Jo Davies.

The story centres around a modern family, who possess a special ‘box’ which teleports us to places where we explore the earth’s imprints before human habitation, a history of our human footprints and the potential we now have to make our mark.

Mysterious pre-historic creatures stomp through a swirling primordial swamp leaving future carbon footprints.

The earth ruptures spewing forth a molten milkshake mutating life and landscape.

Ancient stories of the dreamtime link with newer stories of our lives, our past and present - revisiting recent eras, moments in history, fashions and trends and those things that linger and resonate upon us all.

There's something for everyone in this thought-provoking production that will also bring heaps of fun to both the audience and performers alike!

So come along and enjoy the magical ride. It is bound to leave a lasting impression...

This year the Arts Spectacular moves to a new site in Coronation Park with much more space for staging and seating, bringing a new and exciting dynamic to the festival’s celebratory event.

The Boonah Arts Collective has been generously supported by a grant for a stage, which was proudly funded by the Queensland Government's Gambling Community Benefit Fund.

Pre-show entertainment starts at 5.30 with local bands, skits and a sliedeshow of historical Boonah images. Imprints the Show starts at 7pm.

Bring a picnic or there'll be food available on site from stalls catered by local cafes and community groups’ stalls. Remember to BYO chairs, or rugs and cushions.

The People’s Choice Awards will be awarded for the Scenic Rim Art Awards and Paddock Sculpture AgriCultural Art Trail. The Festival raffle will be drawn; with the first prize being an original painting Imprints of an Ancient Land by festival design winner and Boonah Arts Collective member Ray Verrall.

WORKSHOPS
Free festival workshops have begun and continue through August, engaging the community of all ages in song, dance, performance, circus skills, fire sculpture, costume, prop, set and lantern making.
